About us

Hostal Espirales is an initiative from Fundación Entre Volcanes, created to contribute to self suficiency and sustainability of the foundation and in this way creating work to local development with farm families of Isla de Ometepe, through socal development projects, with women, juveniles and small producers, in health ares, gender equitiy, environment, local development, citizen participation and democracy, sexual and reproductive rights and HIV-AIDS.


History
Hostal Espirales is an initiative from Fundación Entre Volcanes, to define the building they took advantage of the infrastructure that functionated as offices and commercialized, they remodelled it and created Hostal Espirales during 2007. It came into operation in Easter 2011 providing lodging and restaurant service. Fundación Entre Volcanes continued raising funds to expand the capacity and invest in utilities. 


The hostal started with rooms with shared bathroom. These days it has a dormitory and rooms with private bathroom, it has a solar energy system, to secure that visitors aren't left in oscurity when the energy fails. water is provided by the communal system of Madroñal. Fundación Entre Volcanes helps the same community to invest in storage batteries and pipelines, to provide a better service to the community.

Vision
It's a self-sustaining company, provider of resources for projects of Fundación Entre Volcanes for the benefit of the communities on Ometepe Island.
